A security hole has been discovered with iPhones running 6.0.1-6.1.2, where if the iPhone is locked with a passcode, and someone has physical access to the phone… the passcode can be forcibly bypassed allowing the hacker to place calls, listen to voicemails, or view photos assigned to contacts.

This hack involves tapping Emergency Call on the locked passcode screen, executing several well timed steps including starting to powering down and calling 911, followed by tapping Emergency Call again and holding the sleep button down for 3 seconds. Apple has acknowledged this security threat, and they will be fixing it in a future iOS update.
