Outlook 2011 has had a longstanding issue where when certain proxy auto-configurations were used, Outlook would not automatically detected and connect to Exchange servers when adding Exchange accounts. Outlook 2011 also has a known bug where if connected to a public folder that had been removed or disabled from the Exchange server, Outlook would continuously try to connect to it even though it was no longer available. Also it has been reported that Outlook 2011 could sometimes mysteriously delete shared folders that were added by using the “Open Other User’s Folder” feature.

The recently released Microsoft Office 2011 14.4.3 Update fixes all three of these Outlook 2011 issues.
