The eagerly anticipated new version of Mac Office 2016 is now available, but only to Office 365 subscribers with app rights (Office 365 Home, Personal, Business, Business Premium, E3, or ProPlus). This version replaces Office 2011, which has been the standard for almost the last 5 years.
The Mac Office 2016 apps (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, OneNote) can be installed alongside an existing Office 2011 installation, and they can be run simultaneously.
Microsoft announced they will begin offering Mac Office 2106 as a one-time purchase for non-Office 365 subscribers “this September”. No price has been released.
